Spring Break!
March 18th, 2011Well, my spring break is almost over but it’s okay! I’ve had an absolutely lovely spring break.
Monday and today (Friday) I have nine hour shifts at work (which are pretty awful), and I’ll be so happy in 3 hours and 28 minutes when I’m done with my shift! Tuesday through Thursday I went up to Fort Worth with my boyfriend and visited one of my friends from high school. I had a wonderful time!
On Tuesday my boyfriend and I arrived at Fort Worth around 12pm, two hours early! Thankfully we only had to wait an hour till we got picked up. Then we went to a Mexican restaurant called Chuy’s, which was good. After that we went to my friend’s brother’s apartment and dropped off our stuff. We tried out his Kinect, which is a device for the Xbox 360 that allows you to play certain games without a controller. It was really fun and makes me want to save up to get one! After that, we went to the mall and had some fun. We then went to dinner, first trying to go to billy bob’s country club which was closed, so we went to a pancake house that was pretty good. We ended up staying up really late, probably till 5am catching up and gossiping.
So on Wednesday we woke up at 2:30 and got ready and went to a different mall, where I got some new shirts, jewelry, and a really good deal on some cute boots! We had a really good time at the mall. After we finished shopping, we went to Billy Bob’s again but this time they were open and it was Ladies Night! So I was able to go in free. The food was surprisingly good and my friend and I had fun dancing. No, we did not do line dancing. We just did goofy dancing. After that we stopped by a chik fil a that was opening to visit some of my friend’s brother’s family. After we spent a few minutes talking, then we went to a place called Yogurt Land.
Yogurt Land was really fun! Its a place where you serve yourself frozen yogurt, and they give you sample cups to try out the flavors. They had a really good coffee frozen yogurt so I got that, with mochi on top! It was sooo good! It was only 35 cents an ounce too! I wish we had one in San Antonio, but oh well!
After yogurt land we went to a 7-11 where I tried a Slurpee, and it was pretty good. We then proceeded to go home and stayed up late again gossiping and chatting.
Thursday we woke up about 9:30, got packed and spent time time near the pool tanning and chatting. We then went to the bus station, where I said goodbye to my friend and made the trip back to San Antonio. It was a pretty stressful ride since they overbooked the bus, and my boyfriend and I barely got on in time!
Once I got back to my apartment, my whole day was pretty much ruined. I smelled a bad smell outside my apartment and dismissed it, and went in to smell a pretty bad smell. I tried taking out the garbage, but it wasn’t that. I open my fridge to discover my fridge burned out probably the day I left, and everything was ruined. I lost quite a bit of food which makes me angry since I went shopping right before the trip so I wouldn’t have to go shopping. I tried getting the housing office today to reimburse for the food but they told me that is what renter’s insurance is for and I’m out of luck.
However, I now have a fridge that is working (for now) and at least they cleaned it for me! However, I’m quite angry that this happened since according to my boyfriend who was there when the fridge got fixed, it looked like this all could of been avoided if they did maintenance on the fridge. Arghh!
Oh well. At least i’ll be off work in 3 hours and 15 minutes.
